Director of Operations
Do you have a head for business and a heart for camp and retreat ministry??
Highlands Presbyterian Camp and Retreat Center in Allenspark, CO is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee Finance, Human Resources, phone and Information and Technology systems; as well as oversee the work of managers in the areas of Food Service, Guest Services, Housekeeping and Maintenance.
Highlands is located at 8300 feet on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. We are a religiously affiliated, year-round camp and retreat center, licensed for residential summer camp by the state of Colorado. The Director of Operations will live on site. Compensation includes salary, housing, utilities, and medical and retirement benefits.

Guest Services Associate
This is a part-time, year-round position that reports to the Guest Services Supervisor. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining common areas of the camp/retreat center, assisting in cleaning and stocking cabins and guest rooms, prepare/clean dining halls, meeting spaces, and public restrooms. Applicants must have a clean criminal background and meet the Colorado State Childcare Licensing requirements including a physical exam and appropriate immunizations.
This is a part-time, year-round position that reports to the Head Housekeeper. Qualified candidates would be excellent representatives of Highlands. This person would coordinate with the Head Housekeeper for cleaning times and be aware of the daily schedule and any changes. Responsibilities include cleaning rooms, public restrooms, cabins and office areas, removing trash, set up and maintaining cleaning supplies and carts, and stocking linens and supplies. The Housekeeper must comply with all safety standards, be physically able to perform all duties, including lifting at least 50 lbs. Applicants must have a clean criminal background and meet the Colorado State Childcare Licensing requirements including a physical exam and appropriate immunizations.
This is a part-time, year-round position that reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing. Qualified candidates host retreat groups, ensuring the groups feel welcomed and comfortable. The Host must be able to anticipate the needs of guests and staff and to organize office tasks. Responsibilities include answering phones and inquiries, providing clerical support for Highlands and Highlands staff, checking in guest groups, providing assistance to guests, handle camp store sales, etc. Applicants must have a clean criminal background and meet the Colorado State Childcare Licensing requirements including a physical exam and appropriate immunizations.
Food Service Worker
This is a part-time position that reports to the Food Service Director. Qualified candidates will assist in providing a safe and clean environment that meets all guidelines of the regulating governmental agencies and American Camp Association. The food service worker must exemplify a general attitude of helpfulness to all volunteer staff, campers, parents, user groups, and other staff members. Responsibilities include service in all departmental areas, including preparation, service, and clean up of meals. Food Service staff help provide healthy, high-quality food service for both camp and retreat center guests. Staff will also participate in planned meetings and training which is provided by Highlands Presbyterian Camp & Retreat Center.
Summer and Seasonal Staff Positions
Highlands employs individuals throughout the year for temporary seasonal employment. Summer time in the Rockies is gorgeous, and we offer many different job titles for about 35 people. Check back the beginning of December apply for various positions.
2020 dates of employment for most summer program positions begin with two weeks of staff training starting May 25th, followed by six weeks of summer camp with two additional weeks of Partnership Day Camp.
Guest and food services positions have terms of employment beyond those listed above for program staff positions.
