Believing that Jesus Christ is the light of the world, Solar Under the Sun works to alleviate energy poverty in partnership with volunteers by equipping and resourcing them for mission and advocating for those in need. Solar School is Solar Under the Sun's 4-day training camp to teach mission teams how to work with developing communities to design and install off-grid solar energy systems around the world.

Solar School is made up of two courses: Solar 1 and Solar 2. You don't have to take both, but to complete a Solar Under the Sun project, a mission team needs at least one Solar 1 graduate and one Solar 2 graduate. Usually a group sends at least one person to Solar 1 and one person to Solar 2.

Solar School runs from Thursday, July 6 at 10:00 AM (registration & lunch) to Sunday, July 9 at 10:30 AM. The activities and classes begin in the mornings at 7:30 AM and end in the evenings at 9:00 PM. The schedule is subject to change.  A typical schedule for the daily activities of Solar School can be viewed at www.solarunderthesun.org/getinvolved/solarschool.cfm

The cost for Solar School is $485 per registrant. This includes room and board, instruction, and training manuals. We recomend that participants be over 18 years of age. Youth over 13 are welcome if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
